on the One reflects Jill’s personality and her joy. Soft, liquid colors combine with cool jazz playing in the background…serene, but definitely hip. A staff of six share her enthusiasm for encouraging every woman’s individuality.

“My aim in setting up the store was to enable a woman’s self expression, to create a woman’s space in my working environment, and to do what I absolutely and passionately love” says Jill. “Another priority is to be accessible to our customers. We believe that nothing is more important than the individual attention we give to all our clients. ”When a woman purchases clothing, she looks for her reflection in the eyes of those around her. When she walks into our store, there is such interaction. We talk, we listen, we hear what matters to her, and we advise.”

on the One’s clientele is made up of busy, sophisticated women, many who have migrated from the City. The store’s opening in 2003 was a gift for women with urban taste living a more relaxed lifestyle. Jill prides herself on featuring the latest designers from New York and around the world, and communicating their mind-set to her customers.

“Her energy and commitment to our business is inspiring to us all”, says Susan White of White + Warren. “She has incredible taste, an appreciation for quality, and an eye for design and color…all the essential elements that make Jill a wonderful buyer and merchandiser. It would be telling only half the story if Jill Heller’s commitment to charity were not mentioned. A supporter of many causes such as autism, breast cancer, and the environment, Jill sponsors several annual events where a portion of the store’s proceeds are donated to specific causes. “With gratitude for all that we are, for all that we are blessed with, I take a portion of our proceeds and place them where my hearts is – giving back to the community and the world at large.”

Jill has been described as having a captivating mix of femininity, confidence, joy, and supreme interest in the world around her. She’s unconventional with an engaging sense of humor. She is a risk taker who has the courage to express herself. Jill does not believe in conforming to the look of the season, but instead loves to play with it. Every piece of merchandise chosen is the result of hours of attention, and carefully thought out series of styles and looks.
