“Working with Jill Heller has been a special experience and pleasure in my life. Jill is an exceptional human being inside and out. She is gifted with a great eye for elegance and style, and her combined business sense and has made on the One a success. This store is a special jewel box for Westchester.”

How did I come to on the One? I didn’t – on the One came to me. I met Jill while she was teaching a yoga class and announced her need of a bookkeeper. It was my very first yoga class, and it was no coincidence that I was there in that moment.

My experience was grounded in business administration and bookkeeping. Numbers are an important part of any business. My aim is to maintain good record keeping systems, handle financial statements, and control cash flow so we can create the business we all have dreamed of. With a strong financial position and office details in place, the sales team is free to express their creativity in merchandising and customer service. We call it teamwork.

I came to on the One with 25 years of related retail, fashion, and photography background. Sharing Jill Heller’s vision of bringing NYC and global fashion to Northern Westchester sealed our fate. Fashion is an art form, forever changing like the seasons, paralleling our ever-changing lifestyles. Women are so diverse and I help reflect that in their clothing. For me, the merchandising, windows and display all project who I am, and I love to share it with everyone who walks into the store.

I learned one of life’s greatest lessons – that is, your path can change in a heartbeat depending on what fate has in store for you. Initially my role at on the One was behind the scenes - creating retail computer programs, completing store purchase orders, tracking buying plans – those aspects that enable the store to flow in an organized manner. But my life turned upside-down when my daughter was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. My priorities instantly changed. Through my work with Jill’s “fashion supports charity” program I am able to give my life meaning and purpose; supporting children with cancer. Charity is wherever you find it, or wherever it finds you.
